My main desire is that Reverse did not need to be toggled and could be on the back half of the throttle axis. The trigger is request dock and thumb is shield toggle. I use X-axis to steer left and right and Y-axis to dive-climb, BUT, I set a large deadzone on the Y-axis so the dive-climb has to be intentional and not as a result of accidental input while turning on the X-axis. On the stick I use Left-Right Hatswitch to move back and forth between consoles and Up-Down Hatswitch to Zoom In-Out.
I use the first index finger button on the back of the throttle to select reverse. I use the throttle for impulse and the four thumb buttons on the front of the throttle to select Warp 1-4. I use Xpadder to map some of the controls. I'm using a T-Flight Hotas X which is similar, but slightly different from the stick in the picture above.
